ABOUT US

W.H.I.M. was founded by two best friends in Los Angeles, CA. A shared love of wilderness  and whimsy led to the creation of W.H.I.M., a creative practice of clothing and objects. W.H.I.M. advocates for a world where more humans engage lovingly with the world through exposure to the beauty of non-human-centered landscapes.

We hope to inspire you to get out there however you can, in whatever way makes you feel alive.
With kindness,
W.H.I.M.

FAQs

  • W.H.I.M. stands for Wander, Harmonize, Introspect, and Make.

Wander: The act of experiencing the world.

Harmonize: The act of appreciating the world.

Introspect: The act of considering one’s relationship to the world.

Make: The act of contributing to the world.

  • W.H.I.M. aims to create clothing, art, and materials that promote ecological consciousness – we’re making things that promote appreciating nature and contributing to the world and each other in a kind, positive way.

To some, an object from W.H.I.M. might be a personal reminder. To others, it might be a message they want to share.

  • We think the least pretentious way to answer this is by pointing out why we wear and use our own objects:

    • We resonate with the messages and art featured on our products. Wearing our clothes helps us reflect what’s important to us in the world around us and find like-minded people.

    • Our clothes are ethically sourced from the material to manufacturing to printing. See the next question for more details.

    • We like supporting small businesses and independent creators.

  • We’re committed to ethical sourcing and production for all of our products. As W.H.I.M. grows, we hope to continue making our products more sustainable, eventually aiming to source recycled and materials.

    • Our shirts are sourced and manufactured in Central America, in accordance with WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) and FLA (Fair Labour Association) regulations and guidelines.

    • Our hats are manufactured in China. Sourcing and manufacturing is compliant with International Labour Organization (ILO) and Fair Labor Association (FLA) regulations.

  • Hopefully, lots! In the future, we want to get into technical wear and gear – climbing and hiking clothes and gear (did someone say climbing shoes and chalk bags?), outdoor technical wear like shells, jackets, etc., and more.

We’re also looking forward to collaborating with local artists and small businesses on co-branded or guest-designed clothing and art.
